Using One Of The and Some Of The
“One of the” only use with plural noun and required singular verb, never singular nouns, never uncountable noun.  “Some of the” use with countable plural noun (kata benda jamak yang dapat dihitung) and uncountable noun (kata benda yang tak dapat dihitung). “One of the” in Indonesia mean salah satu and “Some of the” mean beberapa.
Example:
One of the + plural noun + singular verb

Note : Singular verb is used when One of the precede plural noun.
Some of the + plural noun + plural verb

Note : Plural verb is used when some of the precede plural noun
Some of the + uncountable noun + singular verb

Note : singular verb can use with some of the, when some of the take uncountable noun in sentence.
Do not use “one of the” and “some of the” with countable singular noun (kata benda tunggal yang dapat dihitung). And also do not use “one of the” with uncountable noun (kata benda yang tak dapat dihitung).

The article “a” will also function in that position for the same purpose.
Sometimes we use the word one as an adjective, as in  sentence “I’ll have just one scoop of ice cream” , and we seldom have trouble with that usage.
